A game show love connection

In case none of you are aware, when I am having a bad day...I like to "dance" it out.

Keep that in mind for later.

My favorite two boys...keep that in mind for later too :)

I have been having a lot of bad days lately. It seems like its always one thing after the other, which is fine because isn't that what life is all about? We are here to be tested. between my current job, my emotional garbage, not getting a job I really wanted and getting some bad news last week, I have been fighting my natural instincts to let it get to me. But we are also here to be happy..."men are that they may have joy". But can a girl catch a break? Lately it seems almost all my joy has come from my husband, which I discovered tonight, is just enough and then some.

*side note* I am REALLY bad at suppressing my feelings. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I feel things..differently... stronger than other people. Its my blessing and curse...anyway that's another story.

So on top of my inner "sadness"...I had a crappy day, again! really? I mean awesome. So I came home just really .....unpleasant. I feel really bad for poor Garrett, he has really had a crazy wife and he has been so great...(most days ;) but hey, no one is perfect. Anyway, back to today. I had my breaking point when I opened up my 1.09 sonic cheeseburger and it was mutilated. It looked like a 5 year old played with it before they put it in the bag for me, you get what you pay for I guess. Yes, a cheeseburger was my melting point. I can't help it, I love my food. Anyway, as I am crying over my inner issues, this horrid day, and my burger..my sweet husband comes and holds me and kisses me and asks me what would make me happy. I want to point out that he was sick and had just thrown up. I needed out of the house so we went out to the mall and just walked around and came home and did my favorite thing...DANCED, to my new favorite song...Soul Sista by Train and it was glorious! My wonderful, sick, unselfish husband danced with me and even Chauncey joined in. I am a firm believer in dancing things out....I also believe it works better when you dance with someone else. I knew when I got engaged to Garrett I was going to be marrying my best friend, tonight, that was reaffirmed to me and I am so thankful for that...I also realized today, that at the end of the day, none of the stupid things people do that hurt your feelings, a job you hate, or even a new broken phone and a mutilated burger...don't really matter. And if at the end of that long hard day, I can dance around and let loose with someone who makes me laugh when I didn't even want to smile...then that is what counts, that's what matters. I got really lucky in life. I may not be rich, I may hate my nose, my job, and that I still haven't finished school, I may never get that love and attention from certain people that I want, my family may be dysfunctional, and I may have a lot of emotional baggage, but I married my best friend...not everyone can say that, but I can and I am so grateful because you can't ask for anything better than that :)

After a good "dance out"

Holly Jollyness

So I guess its time to update....WAY time to update. Since my last post I have still been trying to get that job. I should find out this week so keep your fingers crossed for me. I really am at my breaking point with this current job and could really use a change. Other than that, things have been about the same...so lets back up and start from the beginning...

Thanksgiving:

Garrett, Evan (my brother in law) and I headed down to Reno. My dad has a brother and a sister who live there which was nice because we were so close to Lake Tahoe. My family from Georgia flew in and we had a mini Kreitlein reunion with most all of the Kreitleins'. It was a total blast. I spent most of my time playing with my cousins...the 5 year old twins. They are so different and such a blast. Ella really had a crush on Garrett, she just had a hard time expressing it correctly...she thoroughly enjoyed beating him up....in the short time we were there she managed to scratch him in the face, slap him, spit on him, sneeze on him...and several other forms of abuse and violence. Garrett did not appreciate the abuse but I thought it was funny. Eva is my little angel, she is such a blast and so incredibly sweet. I really had so much fun with them. We also had a Kreitlein Kickball Game...which was really the "Scott vs. Phill" game. Both brothers were willing to do whatever it took to be the winning team...my own dad even took me out to catch a ball. We still had a blast anyway. We also had the wonderful opportunity to do several initiatory's and sealings for my grandmother. She passed away about a year ago, but had completed a TON of work ...however there was still a lot left to do. Garrett and I went with my aunts, uncles, Dad and Heidi and got the experience of a lifetime. Thanksgiving was wonderful.....

My sweet Eva and Rhett...one of the other set of twins in the family...if you can't tell..I heart twins

CHRISTMAS TIME:

Its that most wonderful time of the year!!!! YESH finally here!!!! The day after we got back from Reno Garrett and I went and got all our decorations and first Christmas Tree. We decided on a fake one because we weren't really sure exactly where to go to purchase a real one, and we also knew we would not actually be here in Utah for Christmas. I am really happy with how it all turned out! I love having the Christmas Spirit in our home. We have watched a Christmas movie every night since December 1st. We have really been trying to dive into the season this year, we even made our own wreath!!! Yay HONKS lol.

St. Nicks Day!

So we decided to create a new tradition together. My friend Jess told me about how her family always celebrates St. Nick Day (December 6th) each year. Neither one of us ever celebrated this in our own home but wanted to make a new one together. We each picked out a small gift for one another along with slippers and candy. We decided each year we will buy each other new slippers and an ornament. We have some other ideas for when the kido's come along but that's what we have for now. We really enjoyed it, it was like a mini Christmas Day lol. We also got another surprise on St. Nicks day......SNOW!!!!!!

Our Loot!

Just in time...first big snow of the season!

So far I have REALLY enjoyed this holly jolly season with Garrett...its been a lot of fun sharing stories and traditions together, and even better starting new ones for our own family. Its also been really great to see how Garrett REALLY gets into the season. He is pretty much always super sweet to me (most days ;) but esp. lately. He even shoveled a path for me from the car door to the house door for me :) Its the little things in life and we are realizing more and more how truly blessed we are for everything we have :)

Well I think that about sums it up...I still have a few more posts..like wedding (yea I know) and New Moon...other than that..I am ALLL caught up!

brat girl

This picture perfectly depicts how I feel about my job. This is the face I make everyday to Garrett before I walk out the door for work. I ....HATE...no I loathe, no ABHOR my pathetic meaningless, mundane job. I like to be productive, I like to do things that matter, that make a difference. I feel so unimportant and each second I remain at my job, I feel a little piece of my soul die. I have been there 2.5 years, what does that say for my soul??? I know, with the economy like it is, I should be grateful to even have a job, which I promise, I really am. I even thank heavenly father for it every single night, honest. But ....I really hate it. I also know that I have not finished school and I shouldn't feel this way and I shouldn't feel like I have to have my dream job, and I don't. I am just a firm believer is doing what you love. I am a passionate person and for the past 2.5 years my passion has been suffocating. I am looking and I ran into a friend at Wal-Mart who told me her job is hiring and you don't need ANY experience....she does something, that matters, something that helps people. She gives people with kidney failure their dialysis...AWESOME! I am applying tomorrow. I hope I get it...I want to do something to make a difference. I know I am a brat. Whatever, I don't care...I know this is a random post but I really just felt like venting..there a little better :)

Humble Abode

Okay, so here are a few pictures of our sweet little home. Yes, it is....small, but we can have the animals there, its a basement so we don't have to deal with management. we have a magic washer AND dryer that we don't have to stick quarters in to work!!! Its small and I still have a few things we still need to hang up, but its ours and we are all cozy and happy

Fall Time

SO I have been neglecting my blog...as you read this post, you will see why. We have kept ourselves extremely busy this fall season. We have had SO much fun and made new friends. For fall this year we went to Cornbelly's, The haunted boat ride in provo (not worth the 6 buck per person), Heber Creeper, and The Red Barn pumpkin patch. SOO much fun...Here are a few of my favorite pics from our adventures with Jessica and Jeremy....

CornBelly's!!

lame-haunted boat ride...oh well, at least we can say we went right??

Heber Creeper...now this was awesome!

Red Barn Pumpkin Patch...an Saturday morning date the boys had planned. I picked the small deformed ones...they were my favorite.
