Better late than never
OOOOPS! I somehow missed our lovely weekend trip to Venice with our beloved friends Abby and Tommy. We went for Carnivale and had a BLAST. I will say I was slightly disappointed in that I was under the impression things would be more colorful. The only person who threw confetti on us was Tommy as whisker kitty. Oh well, it was rainy and chilly so maybe the weather was the reason. It didn't really matter when you are in good company in a sweet place...how can you NOT have fun?? Unfortunately since it was about a month ago, I am unable to recall all the fun little details. Which means, you'll have to draw your own conclusions based on pictures.
Movies Lie
I realized I forgot to post a few places of our adventures, Verona being one of them. We were bored last weekend and thought to ourselves, hey why not go to Verona. I was particularly excited about this because I loved the movie letters to Juliet and couldn't wait to see the letter wall and balcony. So off we went. I really really loved Verona! It was such an awesome little town.
They even have their own Colosseum that is still used today.
They even had a tiny choo choo train tour for only 3 Euros, granted, it was kinda lame, but I still really loved it. and we only got a picture..inside it.

I LOVE the cool things they make with Marzipan. The pigs are for Abby
It took a little bit to find Juliet's Balcony but when we did...I was disappointed. It is TOTALLY different from the movie. They do NOT have a letter wall...rather a mail box in a hallway. How lame is that? It was okay I guess, just not what I pictured. Not to mention everyone kept taking pictures with her statue cupping her breast...umm what the???? As you can see..I did not. We did however write our names on the wall of love.
All and all I really enjoyed Verona and would love to go back again when its sunny

Torino
Garrett and I were blessed enough to have made some wonderful friends while out here in Italy. Last month they moved from Milan to Torino so we took this weekend to visit them on their last weekend out here. Our weekend was filled with chocolate, gelato,museums,laughter, and some good ole fashion card games.
When we arrived to their place, which by the way is located in an awesome piazza, there was a festival going on. Not just any festival, a CHOCOLATE one!!!!! They had every brand of chocolate imaginable! Tents and tents fully loaded with chocolaty goodness.

They even had a tent that had the history of chocolate complete with a ginormous chocolate italy complete with chocolate statues of actual famous monuments.
They even had "spalm springs" were you could just lay back and soak up the sun
We spent the rest of the evening falling in love with pups at a pet store, touring Torino, and eating gelato. The next day we got up and headed for the Mole movie museum. It was a blast. It had themed rooms with comedy, horror, history, western, and romance. It also had this HUGE theater room with red velvety recliner chairs....sick. I loved the Mole it had everything!..even an autographed photograph of my beloved Clark Gable...oh baby
After the Mole we spent the day touring Torino I really liked it here a lot. It seemed like the classic Italy people always think of
GB and I also checked out the 2nd largest Egyptian Museum in the world, since I love Egyptology. IT. WAS. AWESOME. I got to see a real mummy AND mummified people!!!! I couldn't believe that I was looking at skeletons that were thousands of years old and they still had HAIR! It was incredible.They even had pieces from the book of the dead! AHH Sadly our camera died about half way through :(
We had a really great weekend and were sad to leave our friends. Abby and Tommy are awesome and we hope it won't be too long before we see them again soon.

Klumpy
This past week(or since it is now a week and a half since starting this post, a few weeks ago) we received a our first visitor..
aka:Jason "klumpy" Klomp
GB really loved having a friend from home out to visit..and I did as well. Unfortunately, I was battling some illness's his first few days here and I missed out on their adventures. So as much as I would love to narrate that for you, I can not. So if GB wants is posted, he must do it his little self...good luck GB.
Klumpy took off for his own personal adventures on Monday so we met up with him Thursday night in Genoa. We hit up Cirque Terra again but this time we got to enjoy the other cities we missed, and GB got to experience the walk of amore...Here are some shots from our trip.
We were starving after we got off the train at Rio Magore so we stopped to get some grub right by the cove. Lunch was interesting....
So...What. Is. THIS?
This is Klump's lunch that cost 18 Euro. This is also why I NEVER order fish in foreign countries. Pretty sure they caught it straight from the ocean after he ordered it and slapped um straight on his plate. Oh and yes...he ate it
This is GB's fish. He actually really loved it.
If you can't tell, this is the head of the little fishy
This is Hot Chocolate in Italy...its more like melted pudding..super thick and you need to eat it with a spoon. HEAVEN in a cup

Umm, He could have done worse....

Once we made it to the next town we decided to snag some hot chocolate and take a break. We walked around tiny bit more before we decided to call it good and go home. It was freezing cold and windy but a good day.
On the way home we got dumped at a station for some unknown reason then placed on another train which seemed to be a ghost train. Seriously we were the ONLY ones on this thing and it was BURNING hot and smelled smoky. At first we thought this may be sketchy but decided to go with it. We had lots of fun being loud and sticking our head out the window and shouting. By the way did you know trains only stop at Lambrate for..oh 5 seconds? Did you know thats only enough time to let ONE person off the train. Yea Klumpy forced his way out the doors and left us on the train. Don't worry it was only 11 and it only took an additional 30 min to get back home once we got off the next stop and made our way back home...did I mention we were also carrying Klumps stuff? yea...oh Klumpy. We had so much fun having him with us and I am pretty sure I heard enough about his lovely girlfriend to feel like I had known her my whole life. :) Love you Klumps thanks for the visit!
