ABC's

Attitude. Believe. Courage.

This is the message from the first presidency of my church this month. What a fantastic message to start my new year.

I read this message a few weeks ago and it really touched me...of course, like most things, I forgot all about it. Hence my previous disgusting post. yea...ooops. Oh well it was honest and honesty is....refreshing? right?

Hey I am human and no one is perfect and I needed to vent. Anyway, all is well, I have changed my attitude, decided to believe in myself, and gained a little courage.

We had our home teachers over tonight which I loved. I love having home teachers, I love that the message they share always seems to be just what I need, I love that they bring the spirit, and I love that they leave the spirit with us when they go.

Its awesome.

Tonight they shared the First Presidency message again, I needed to hear it again. I needed that reminder. Its beautiful and simple and just everything I need right now.

GB and I were talking today about how blessed we are. We talked about how sometimes we have rough days and complain about things, but really, we shouldn't because despite all the hard, we are so very blessed. And really, the hard is not as bad as it could be.

Life is good. I have been trying really hard to just let my worry and frustration go and just leave it to the lord. Because really, most of the things that I really worry about are completely out of my control. And the few things that are, I am doing my very best to change them, and I have faith that once I have done all I can do, the lord will take care of the rest.

Live an abundant life. That is the moral of the message. An abundant life, I have. I have a phenomenal husband who works his tush off to provide for me and our future little family. I have the gospel and the lord on my side. I have a happy home and tasty food and a warm bed. I have a sweet snugly pup who loves me unconditionally. I have been blessed with talents and gifts to enrich my life and help bless others. Not to mention all the wonderful family I have. I mean look at this really I could go on and on.

Despite my bad days, I have Joy, pure joy. Without the bad days, I don't think I could really appreciate the good ones as much as I do. Cause when my days are good, they are really good.

I encourage everyone to go here and read this. I promise you won't regret it. And maybe, just maybe, it might inspire you too.

"Beam me up Scotty"

As mentioned in my previous post...I am not patient. This past month has totally and completely kicked. my. trash. I mean seriously....enough already. I throw my hands up and say "beam me the frig up". Finished. Donezo. Over it. Ready to go back to my real home.

I am having a day today, to say the least.

I ate an entire bag of popcorn. BY. MY. SELF. ...AND...had like 20 mini brownie cookies..needless to say I now feel like crap...at least I am throwing it up, (not on purpose) that's something. Tossing the calories. I wish whatever toxic horrible thing that has taken over my body for the past 3 years would go with it.

I need a vacation, a tropical beach....but a secluded beach, a beach where no other living creature exists. Where I can nap on the beach in my birthday suit and not have to worry about any one around me judging me. ...yes, that sounds nice.

I know, pathetic, I'm complaining while so many others are suffering so much worse. I realize what I am doing, I just can't stop it. I mean I suppose I could....maybe...nope. Can't its an unstoppable force. Poor, Poor GB. So glad he is out playing racquetball.

blegh.

Worth Waiting For

I am the least patient person I know. Because I prayed to be more patient, the lord is teaching me patience right now...(you really get what you pray for let me tell you)

I waited 21 years to find Garrett, and 2 more to marry him. I am so thankful that I did not partake of the chocolate chip Satan placed before me before I met him. He was pretty worth it I would say. I guess I can trust the Lord and be patient with everything else too.

Love Notes

Over Christmas break I saw this adorable little Valentines mailbox on sale and I just had to get it. I thought to myself, "oh this will be perfect, I will stuff it full of sweet nothings to GB and give it to him on V-day. I, however, was not too sneaky. Having completely spaced about it I neglected to hide it upon arriving home from our trip, and GB found it. FAIL. So I just put it up as a little pathetic decoration until Valentines.

About 2 weeks ago I was having a really rough day and really not liking anything about myself. After listening to me go on and on my sweet husband gave me a hug and smiled and promised me he would show me all the things there were to love about me.
The next day, I noticed the flag on the mailbox was up, GB smiled and said, "I think you have mail." I saw a sweet little note that read, " you are creative"...

There has been a sweet note in my mailbox every single day since. Everyday it seems to be something that I need to hear (or read). I am beyond grateful for my husband. Sometimes I get frustrated about half empty coke cans that always seem to be around the house, Sometimes he drives me crazy when I have to ask 3 days in a row to take out the trash.....but really, what kind of complaints are those? I am so lucky I was able to trick him into marrying me. Everyday I get to spill my guts to the best listener I have ever known, Every night I get lie down next to someone who makes me laugh myself to sleep. Every day I get to share my life with my best friend. Every day, I am unbelievably spoiled with more love than I have ever known. GB is the very best and I can honestly say, I can NOT imagine being with anyone else..ever. So for all my little missteps and failures, it doesn't really matter...because with him, I already have a big ginormous WIN.

Today

Today does not give much promise for a decent week. I can't wait for January to be over, February will be better. February has to be better. January can cram it. 16 whole days left....

To have a better attitude I have been keeping a gratitude journal, I have literally been counting my blessings. Every single day I write down ten things I have grateful for pertaining to that day. Today, My mom was all ten of them.

I am so grateful today for a mom who understands me. Growing up my mom was not my friend. I pushed her away as much as possible. But the older I get the more I realize what a great friend she can be. I have never been afraid to tell my mom when I have done something wrong. I have always felt like I can go to her with any and every problem....big or small. I have always known that she loves me unconditionally and would never judge me. My mom gives fantastic advice, advice that I feel is divinely inspired. For someone who has struggled so much through out her life, she is incredibly strong and faithful. I am grateful for this every.single.day. I am grateful for her example of the Savior, no matter how bad life gets, she puts a smile on her face and pushes forward with complete faith that things will get better. Its hard to look on the bright side sometimes, but somehow my mother always does. I am grateful for my mother today, because today as she was lying in a hospital bed all alone, she managed to listen to my petty problems and make me feel better. Today, I am grateful for my mom, times ten.
