Where is Melvin?

Garrett got me a hamster...Melvin. Melvin was to help fill the void in my life from missing my baby cousins so much. Not that a hamster can make up for them, but like babies he is cute and cuddly. He just happens to be a little more furry. He was uber cheap and he is SUPER adorable. This picture is typical Chauncey and his new obsession. Since we have had Melvin, this is all Chauncey does...

Not even kidding! He barely,if at all, sleeps and doesn't even care to be outside. His thoughts are entirely consumed with Melvin and what he is doing. There are times when Garrett or I will wake up in the middle of the night we will witness Chauncey awake staring...honestly, does he even sleep anymore? I thought it was adorable at first, but now its just getting creepy. Chauncey loves to give him "kisses".

At least I really hope that is what he is doing. His breed hunts rodents as a pass time. Anyway, I let Melvin out to have some play time and I lost him...we spent a good 2 hours trying to hunt him down. Chauncey of course knew all along he was under the dryer, we just couldn't find him...until we got a flashlight. Here is Garrett digging for Melvin...

Here is Garrett 30 minutes later...Melvin in tact. We were resourceful and pulled him up by spoon. As you can see from the expression on Garrett's face, he was exhausted from the "dig"

We love Melvin and are already so attached to him. I was worried when we found him he would be dead, I am so glad he wasn't

Labor Day

I know, boring title. I couldn't slash didn't feel like coming up with anything more creative so don't judge.

So Garrett and I spent labor day with the Bradhams. They drove up to us this time! We spent Saturday in Charleston and it was grand. We walked ALL over the city and saw rainbow road and the battery. For those of you who are not familiar with Charleston, they have basket weavers EVERYWHERE! they are all beautiful but ridonkulously expensive. So my sweet brothers stole some leftover leaves from the trash and made me my own.....gifts, we will say lol. We also went to Folly beach and had a blast. There were little puppies EVERYWHERE!! it was glorious! The waves were pretty perfect too, not too strong to knock you out but strong enough to play in.
Here is the bonnet thing Spencie made me :)

Sunday we went to Sumter where my father in law grew up. It was really neat to see all the places he spent as a child. We stopped at Papsi's parents grave as well as Nicholas's. We also met uncle George who is AWESOME! we love George! We went to Swan Lake which is hands down the most beautiful park I have EVER been too. Spencer got in trouble for feeding swans, it apparently clogs their throat and kills them...ooops. Garrett's favorite part were the turtles, which were all over the place....it was a great Sunday. Oh and PS we all got matching Piggly Wiggly shirts Saturday and all wore them Sunday, because we are THAT cool...be jealous

Our Beloved Uncle George

Monday was ZOOO day! Our wonderful parents bought us season passes so we can go ANYTIME we want, and BONUS we also got the refillable icy cups were you get free icies...yea we brought those bad boys home so bring back again ;) Sluth As you can see from the pictures below, I believe our most favorite part was the Rainbow Lorikeet exhibit, those little fellas REALLY loves us!

We really enjoyed having our family here and esp. enjoyed showing them our little home! It felt a little empty when they left :( Its a good thing we live so close!

I am currently looking for places I an either be an Au' Pair or teach English This is like a dream come true for both of us. I have always always wanted to live abroad and work on my book and now I am doing it. Anyway, if you are jealous..well, you should be :p. just kidding that was rude. But we will have skype and a web cam for anyone who wishes to keep up! Here are some pics of where we will be

A few of my favorite things

I know you are thinking one of two things...

A) wow this girl has NO life if she can sit and post on her blog twice in one day
or
B) Man this chick is freakin' awesome to post twice in one day, why can't I manage my time like her

For my ego, I will pretend everyone is thinking the later...anyway

Here are my top five favorite things

*note: I just realized that all of these things have to do with the shower and eating..two of my favorite things to do :)

Paul Mitchell's Lavender Tea Tree Shampoo. This stuff is da bomb! It not only smells heavenly but makes your hair feel so good. It also lasts about a year..if you get the big bottle and buy your husband Axe shampoo so he doesn't steal yours

Cavanders Greek Seasoning. I throw this stuff on EVERYTHING! grilled chicken, fish, eggs, macaroni and cheese..if im cooking it, its got this stuff on it...MMMMM

Aveeno's Lavender and Chamomile body wash. WOW ...this stuff smells SOOOOO SOOO good and its super creamy. I literally sat and the bathroom floor last night just sniffing this stuff for 20 min. NO JOKE...LOVE IT

Yogi Granola Crisps (strawberry flavor). One word...YUMMY. This stuff is nectar from the Gods. Its incredibly delicious and and SUPER healthy. It is jam packed with nutrients. Its perfect for when you have the munchies...just can't eat too much at once because it is a little spendy

Last but not least, Spin Pins. I guess these do not really go into the food or shower category, more like ..hair. Anyway, these bad boys are everything they claim to be and more. They are easy to insert and remove, plus they hold like super glue. I can run, do hula, jump up and down...and my hair ain't goin' anywhere!

Nummy Nummy

Okay, I can not believe I am doing this..but I am posting food. Yea, I know get over it.

This is BBQ chicken pizza I came up with/copied from Jet Pizza in my hometown. I wasn't exactly sure how they made it but they way I did it was SUPER easy. I started off with the grilling the chicken with Greek seasoning. Then I just threw together some pizza crust and let the bread rise and cook a little in the oven,Next I poured honey BBQ sauce over it where you would normally place tomato sauce, then piled on my grilled chicken slices and chunks followed by corn beef strips and onions. I then snowed it with a blend of Italian cheeses and popped that baby in the oven on 475 for about 15 min. And... VIOLA! yumminess! It was soo tasty and very easy.

Here is the Lemon Chilled Pie I whipped together today. I have never made a custard before so I was really excited at how well it turned out, mainly because I couldn't believe how simple it was. I literally put it together in 4 min. The hard part was waiting patiently long enough for it to cool. I got the recipe from a Serendipity Cook book we got at our wedding. Let me know if you want it
